The Chair for Organizational Design at the Institute for Empirical Research in Economics (IEW) in Zürich is inviting applications for three openings for a
Post-Doctoral Researcher
The research focus of this Chair is the design of improved social, political, and eco-nomic institutions using theory and experiments. The research covers a wide range of topics including the analysis and design of auctions and markets, voting institu-tions, and social learning and networks: http://www.iew.uzh.ch/chairs/jgoeree.html
We currently envision filling
1. One Postdoc position in theory
2. One Postdoc position in experimental
3. One Postdoc position that combines the development and support of JAVA based auction/market software with (experimental) research in this area
Candidates for positions 1 and 2 should have completed their PhD in economics, and have a strong background in either theoretical or experimental research with a focus on auction/mechanism design, networks, or political institutions.
Candidates for position 3 should have a strong background in programming, in par-ticular JAVA, see http://www.iew.uzh.ch/institute/stellen_en.html The position entails 50% programming time and 50% research, with some flexibility depending on the candidate’s interests and skills.
The start date and terms of the positions are negotiable. Applications will be re-viewed starting December 16, 2009 on an ongoing basis until the positions are filled.
