Nottingham University Business School with Aromco Ltd : Knowledge Transfer Partnership – Marketing Executive

Salary : £19,000 to £24,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. An excellent individual training package is also available
This post will be offered on a fixed-term contract for a period of two years

In collaboration with Aromco Ltd, Nottingham University Business School has been awarded a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP).  The project’s aim is to identify and implement the more effective use of new product development capabilities and marketing resources to enable Aromco Ltd to grow its international business.

Based at the company premises in Nuthampstead, Hertfordshire, the successful applicant will manage the project supported by the experienced staff from both Aromco Ltd and Nottingham University Business School.

Aromco Ltd, one of the largest independent speciality flavour manufacturers in the UK, is involved in the design, application and manufacture of a range of Natural and Nature Identical flavours and supplies a range of sweet and savoury flavour profiles into applications including confectionery, bakery, savoury foods, soft drinks, dairy, alcoholic drinks and tobacco. Approximately 85% of the company’s products are exported to over 50 countries; including many multi-national clients. The company was awarded the Queen’s award for Export in 2005 in recognition of these facts.

The Academic team comprises of Dr Heidi Winklhofer, Professor of Marketing and Dr Vicky Story, Lecturer in Marketing at Nottingham University Business School.

The project will generate and implement a marketing plan that focuses on the more effective use of Aromco’s Ltd new product development capabilities and marketing resources to improve its international operations. The nature of the work would require travel to overseas partners (India, Russia and South Africa).

Candidates should have:

  • A good honours degree in Business Studies,  Management Studies or International Business
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Marketing strategy
  • Analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks and work to tight deadlines.
  • Good project management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to deal with a variety of people at different levels and cultures.
