Amounts of awards
The School of Management is offering up to 35 fee awards to students for part payment of UK/EU tuition fees in 2010/11. These bursaries will range from a minimum of £500 to a maximum of £2000, with the amount awarded to each candidate decided by the School.
Criteria for fee award
These are the only criteria which will be used when awarding bursaries.
Candidates wishing to be considered for a bursary must submit an original essay which must be the applicant's own work, and must not already have been written/submitted for assessment in any other situation. The essay must be written in the English language (i.e. not translated from another language) and must answer one of the following two titles:
either
Should bankers' bonuses be regulated?
or
What role do you think the European Union should play in guiding the domestic policies of member states?
The essay must be between 1200 words (minimum) and 1500 words (maximum) (excluding footnotes/appendices) typed in MS-Word, Times New Roman font, 11pt.
Candidates must also submit a covering letter, quoting their UB number and confirming that the essay is entirely their own, original work.
The essay and covering letter must be submitted by e-mail as attached files, sent to msc.mgt@bradford.ac.uk
Eligible candidates are encouraged to apply as soon as possible because the number of bursaries is limited. Awards will be announced by 31 July 2010, unless there remain bursaries which have not been allocated by that date.
NOTES
The School will not consider any essay with an alternative title: these titles have been chosen to reflect the varied background of our applicants.
The School will not provide additional comments or advice about these titles and no supplementary material will be considered.
The School's decision is final with respect to its judgement of an applicant's academic merit and suitability for award of a bursary.
To take up a bursary, a recipient must have satisfied all conditions of admission, prior to registering on her/his Master's course at the School.
